I met a man online and we chatted for a bit. He seemed very sweet and so we agreed to meet late one night at a coffee shop after he finished work. Being a night owl, this didn't bother me.

I waited at the coffee shop for some time and he never showed. Disappointed, I went home and left an e-mail for him telling him that I was disappointed. I thought I'd been stood up.

A couple days later his cousin comes online to check his e-mails for him and informs me that night he'd been speeding and ran into a guard rail. He didn't stand me up, he'd gone into the hospital. I still feel horrible that he'd gotten into this awful accident because he was coming to meet me. All I can say is slow down people! Nothing is worth risking your life for.
